Jule Japhet is a working artist with 3 decades of experience. Her art began with drawing and writing, then acting, singing, dancing and filmmaking.
"I explore art's infinite interior to self-reflect, to express myself, to seek and give counsel, to celebrate, to grieve, to learn, to love and I have found, that in every part of my life, art has got my back. It protects and nourishes me."
Japhet is an actor, director, musician and writer with extensive training from Drama and Art schools in Paris, London, Los Angeles and Colombia, as well as voice and dance training with notable French professionals and institutions. Jule has written, composed, filmed and performed in a number of her own creations, including the short film Partisan Arise in 2013.
Japhet was a performer in the multi-media stage performance of Sam Fox’s Prompter which toured Australia in 2014. Japhet is also a musician, songwriting and singing with French artists including Camille. She composed the score for the films Origami (directed by Frederick Laurent) and her own production, Partisan Arise.
Japhet developed the ARTAVISM MANIFESTO, an artistic practice that promotes safe playgrounds, activism and emotional intelligence through the arts. A dedicated supporter of community arts projects, she believes Art is a connective tissue between the individuals in community that has an extraordinary capacity to heal.
